How to Avoid Fake Blood Donation Requests
The scams that circulate, and their tells.
The money tell
Every blood scam eventually asks for money — 'processing fees', 'donor travel advance', 'blood bank charges to be reimbursed'. Genuine volunteer donation involves zero payment in any direction.
The urgency-without-details tell
Fake requests have dramatic urgency but no verifiable hospital, no attendant who answers, and no consistent details across forwards.
Protect yourself and others
Share only linked, verifiable requests; report suspicious ones; and never send your ID documents to strangers 'to register as a donor'.
Frequently asked questions
Someone asked me to pay to receive donor contact — is that normal?
No. That's the scam. Report it immediately.
Can scammers misuse my donor registration?
On HelpALife your number is never public, so scammers can't harvest it from the platform.
